Women stitching campaign

Recognizing the indispensable role that women play in the development of a region, our organization is committed to upskilling and providing a sustainable source of income for women in the villages. To achieve this goal, we have launched a stitching campaign and established a skill center. Here, women who are eager to learn stitching are mentored by experienced individuals proficient in this craft.

The skill center functions as a hub for creativity and learning, empowering women to craft beautiful blouses, tote bags, and dresses with unique designs. Our organization ensures the availability of all necessary materials, fostering a conducive learning environment for the women. The products crafted by these skilled women are showcased in city exhibitions, providing them with a marketplace to independently sell their creations and earn a livelihood without relying on external support.

This holistic approach not only empowers women with valuable skills but also creates economic opportunities that contribute to their financial independence. By establishing a connection between rural craftsmanship and urban markets, the stitching campaign becomes a catalyst for the overall development and empowerment of women in these villages.

Solar Lantern Distribution

In the small village of Ghol in the Dahanu district of Maharashtra, a significant challenge persisted for 25 years – the absence of electricity, impacting the lives of its residents even 75 years after Independence. The lack of light not only affected children’s eyesight as they studied in the dark but also posed health risks for women cooking without proper illumination. Additionally, charging mobile phones required a lengthy journey of 5-6 km to areas with electricity.

Upon encountering this situation, our organization, ALOG Welfare Foundation, took a compassionate step to improve the lives of these families. We designed customized Solar Lanterns to provide light to the households. These Solar Lamps offer a power backup of 10-12 hours and can be conveniently charged at any mobile charging port.

Our foundation distributed two Solar Lamps to each of the 30 families in Ghol, bringing a ray of light into their lives. The elders expressed that they had lost hope of ever experiencing the day when their humble dwellings would be illuminated. The ALOG Welfare Foundation’s efforts not only provided practical solutions but also brought immense joy and gratitude from the residents. Witnessing their happiness and receiving their blessings served as the most fulfilling reward for our organization’s commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of those in need.
